8-Year-Old Dies of Electrocution in Sonipat While Playing on Terrace

An 8-year-old boy named Asad Ahmed tragically died after coming in contact with a high-tension wire while playing on the terrace in Patel Nagar, Sonipat. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on Monday, when Asad was playing with his friends on the second floor of his house. While chasing his ball, which had landed on a neighboring roof, he accidentally touched a high-voltage wire.

The electrocution caused severe burns and even triggered explosions in the wiring of two nearby houses. Hearing the blast, locals rushed to the scene. Asad’s family immediately took him to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he battled for his life throughout the night but passed away at around 4 AM the next morning.

Police reached the spot, recorded statements from witnesses, and inspected the scene. The investigation is currently underway.
