Anti-Encroachment Drive Launched in Sonipat to Improve Traffic Flow

To streamline traffic and reduce congestion in the city, the Sonipat Traffic Police, in coordination with the Municipal Corporation, launched a special anti-encroachment drive.

The campaign was primarily focused on areas like Tiranga Chowk and Kakroi Road, where goods displayed outside shops, roadside carts, and illegally parked vehicles were removed.

The joint action by the police and municipal authorities created a stir among shopkeepers, street vendors, and vehicle owners involved in illegal parking. Many hurriedly removed encroachments beyond the permitted limits.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that such special drives are regularly conducted to improve traffic conditions in the district. He appealed to shopkeepers, vendors, and motorists to cooperate in maintaining smooth traffic flow.

Authorities also warned that strict action will be taken against those who park their vehicles improperly on the roads. Auto-rickshaw drivers were instructed to park only in designated areas.
