NCC Cadets’ Cycle Expedition on the Theme ‘Bharat Ke Veer – Ek Shaurya Gatha’ to Reach DCRUST Murthal on January 18

Colonel Anoop Rawat, Commanding Officer of the 12 Haryana Battalion NCC, Sonipat, announced that a cycle expedition is being organized by NCC cadets under the theme ‘Bharat Ke Veer – Ek Shaurya Gatha.’ This expedition began on January 7 from Hussainiwala in Punjab, led by cadets of the 8 Punjab Battalion NCC Phagwara, and will culminate on January 20 at the DG NCC Ground in New Delhi. The expedition includes 24 participants, comprising officers and cadets.

Colonel Rawat shared that the cadets will stay at the DG NCC camp from January 20 to January 28. On January 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will honor the cadets participating in this expedition. He emphasized that adventure activities play a crucial role in NCC training, fostering curiosity, patience, discipline, leadership skills, and character development among cadets.

The purpose of this cycle expedition is to instill courage, leadership abilities, confidence, team spirit, and respect for the nation in the cadets. It is also aimed at increasing awareness and admiration for the sacrifices and struggles of the nation’s heroes.

Colonel Rawat mentioned that on January 18, the cycle expedition will be welcomed at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal. The event will be attended by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor S.P. Singh, Colonel Anoop Rawat, Major Sanjay Sheoran, Lieutenant Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Subedar Major Suresh Kumar, and Subedar Ranveer Singh.

On January 19, at 9:00 AM, the cycle expedition will be flagged off from Sonipat by NCC Group Commander Brigadier Vikas Rai Shandilya. The expedition will proceed through Bawana and Najafgarh to reach Gurugram. Subsequently, on January 20, the expedition will travel from Gurugram to the DG NCC Parade Ground in New Delhi. During this journey, the cadets will cover a total distance of approximately 703 kilometers.
