नेशनल हेराल्ड मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में भारतीय जनता पार्टी कांग्रेस पर हमलावर है। बुधवार को सोनीपत में पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष पंडित मोहन लाल ने बड़ौली ने कांग्रेस नेताओं पर शेयरों की हेराफेरी, भ्रष्टाचार और हजारों करोड़ों रुपये की जमीन हथियाने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि भ्रष्टाचार के चलते आज सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी जमानत पर बाहर है। कांग्रेस नेताओं के घोटालों का पर्दाफाश होने से कांग्रेस पार्टी हाय तौबा मचा रही है और धरना प्रदर्शन की बात कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी को सरकारी सम्पत्ति और फंड लूटने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है। पंडित मोहन लाल बड़ौली ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के नेताओं ने कैसे 50 लाख रुपये में 90 करोड़ रुपये की संपत्ति हथिया ली इसका जवाब कांग्रेस पार्टी को देना चाहिए।
नेशनल हेराल्ड मामले पर बोलते हुए पंडित मोहन लाल बड़ौली ने कहा कि देश के पहले प्रधानमंत्री पं. जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने 20 नवंबर 1937 को एसोसिएटेड जर्नल लिमिटेड यानी एजेएल का गठन किया था। एजेएल के अंतर्गत अंग्रेजी में नेशनल हेराल्ड, हिंदी में नवजीवन और उर्दू में कौमी आवाज समाचार पत्र प्रकाशित हुए। पंडित नेहरू ने कभी भी एजेएल पर अपना मालिकाना हक नहीं जताया, 5,000 स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एजेएल में शेयर होल्डर थे। अखबार के प्रकाशन के लिए एजेएल को कई शहरों में सस्ते दामों पर सरकारों से जमीनें भी ली। 1956 में एजेएल को गैर-व्यावसायिक कंपनी के तौर पर स्थापित किया गया और कंपनी को कर से मुक्ति भी मिली, फिर कंपनी घाटे में चली गई और 2008 तक एजेल पर 90 करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा का कर्ज चढ़ गया।
श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि कंपनी ने अखबारों का प्रकाशन बंद कर प्रॉपटी बिजनेस शुरू कर दिया। 2010 में सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी की एंट्री हुई। 5 लाख रुपये से कांग्रेस ने यंग इंडिया लिमिटेड कंपनी बनाई और राहुल गांधी को कंपनी का डायरेक्टर नियुक्त किया। कंपनी में 38-38 प्रतिशत शेयर सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी ने अपने पास रखे। 24 फीसदी शेयर कांग्रेस नेताओं मोतीलाल वोरा और ऑस्कर फर्नांडीस के पास थे।
कांग्रेस पार्टी द्वारा किए गए घोटालों पर बोलते हुए श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि एजेएल के 10-10 रुपये के नौ करोड़ शेयर वाईआईएल को दे दिए गए और इसके बदले यंग इंडियन को कांग्रेस का लोन चुकाना था। 9 करोड़ शेयर के साथ यंग इंडियन को इस कंपनी के 99 फीसदी शेयर हासिल हो गए। इस तरह कांग्रेस पार्टी ने 26 फरवरी 2011 को इसकी 90 करोड़ की देनदारी की जिम्मेदारी ले ली व बाद में 90 करोड़ रुपये लोन के माफ भी कर दिए और ’यंग इंडिया लिमिटेड’ को मुफ्त में एजेएल का मालिकाना हक मिल गया। श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि कांग्रेस ने शेयर धारकों को भी धोखा दिया और सारे शेयर अपने नाम कर लिए।
भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि नेशनल हेराल्ड मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में ईडी ने 15 अप्रैल 2025 को चार्जशीट दाखिल करते हुए सोनिया गाँधी, राहुल गाँधी, सैम पित्रोदा, सुमन दुबे को आरोपी बनाया। 11 अप्रैल 2025 को ईडी ने नेशनल हेराल्ड अखबार और एसोसिएटेड जर्नल्स लिमिटेड (एजेएल) से जुड़ी मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग केस की जांच की और 661 करोड़ रुपये की अचल संपत्तियों को कुर्क करने की बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि ईडी ने 661 करोड़ की इन अचल संपत्तियों के अलावा एजेएल के 90.2 करोड़ रुपए के शेयरों को ईडी ने नवंबर 2023 में अपराध की आय को सुरक्षित करने और आरोपी को इसे नष्ट करने से रोकने के लिए कुर्क कर लिया।
श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि ईडी ने 11 अप्रैल 2025 को दिल्ली के हेराल्ड हाउस, मुंबई के बांद्रा (ईस्ट) और लखनऊ के बिशेश्वर नाथ रोड स्थित एजेएल की बिल्डिंग पर नोटिस चिपका दिए। 4 अगस्त 2022 को करीब सात घंटे तक कांग्रेस नेता मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे से भी पूछताछ हुई क्योंकि वे तब नेशनल हेराल्ड के एकमात्र कर्मचारी थे। ईडी ने कांग्रेस नेता पवन बंसल का बयान भी दर्ज किया। इसी केस में 3 अगस्त 2022 को दिल्ली की हेराल्ड बिल्डिंग में स्थित यंग इंडिया कंपनी का ऑफिस सील कर दिया। सोनिया और राहुल गांधी से पूछताछ के बाद पिछले साल 2 और 3 अगस्त को ईडी की टीम ने सुबह से देर शाम तक नेशनल हेराल्ड के दिल्ली, मुंबई और कोलकाता समेत 16 ठिकानों पर छापेमारी की। जून 2022 में राहुल गांधी से 5 दिनों में 50 घंटे पूछताछ हुई, फिर 21 जुलाई 2022 में नेशनल हेराल्ड केस में सोनिया गांधी से 3 दिन में 12 घंटे सवाल हुए थे। इस दौरान उनसे 100 से ज्यादा सवाल किए गए। ईडी ने राहुल गांधी से जून 2022 में 5 दिनों में 50 घंटे से ज्यादा पूछताछ की थी।
मोहन लाल बड़ौली ने कहा कि अखबार शुरू करने के लिए कांग्रेस ने जो कर्ज दिया वह भी अवैध था, क्योंकि यह फंड पार्टी के फंड से लिया गया था। उन्होंने कहा कि शेयर ट्रांसफर होते ही एजेएल के शेयर होल्डर्स सामने आ गए। पूर्व कानून मंत्री शांति भूषण, इलाहाबाद व मद्रास उच्च न्यायालयों के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश मार्कंडेय काटजू सहित कई शेयरधारकों ने आरोप लगाया कि जब वाईआईएल ने एजेएल का ’अधिग्रहण’ किया था तब उन्हें कोई नोटिस नहीं दिया गया था। यही नहीं, शेयर ट्रांसफर करने से पहले शेयर होल्डर्स से सहमति भी नहीं ली गई। बता दें कि शांति भूषण और मार्कंडेय काटजू के पिता के नाम पर एजेएल में शेयर थे।
भाजपा प्रदेश अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि कांग्रेस के इस घोटाले की जांच 2014 में मोदी सरकार आने के बाद ईडी ने शुरू की। जांच से सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी पर कार्रवाई की तलवार लटकने लगी और दोनों मां-बेटा कोर्ट पहुंच गए। 19 दिसंबर, 2015 को निचली अदालत ने इस मामले में दोनों को जमानत दे दी थी। श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि मोदी सरकार ने 2018 में 56 साल बाद पुराने स्थायी पट्टे को रद् कर दिया। इसके अलावा हेराल्ड हाउस परिसर से एजेएल को अखबार प्रकाशित ना करने के आधार पर बेदखल कर दिया। श्री बड़ौली ने कहा कि सोनिया गांधी और राहुल गांधी ने एक ऐसी कम्पनी बनाई, जिसका मकसद कारोबार करना नहीं था, बल्कि करोड़ों रुपये की संपत्ति हथियाने का षडयंत्र था।

BJP Haryana State President Pandit Mohan Lal Badoli launched a scathing attack on the Congress party while speaking to the media in Sonipat. He accused Congress of engaging in massive corruption, share manipulation, and grabbing land worth thousands of crores of rupees. He said that due to these corrupt practices, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are currently out on bail.
Badoli claimed that the Congress party is now creating an uproar and resorting to protests because their scams are being exposed. He asserted that the Congress had no right to loot government funds and property. He questioned how Congress leaders managed to acquire property worth ?90 crores for just ?50 lakhs, and demanded answers from the party.
Speaking on the National Herald money laundering case, Badoli explained that India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had established Associated Journals Limited (AJL) on 20 November 1937. Under AJL, the newspapers National Herald (English), Navjeevan (Hindi), and Qaumi Awaaz (Urdu) were published. Nehru never claimed ownership of AJL, which had 5,000 freedom fighters as shareholders. The government also allotted land to AJL at concessional rates in various cities for publishing newspapers.
In 1956, AJL was registered as a non-commercial entity and was granted tax exemption. However, the company ran into financial trouble, and by 2008, it was ?90 crores in debt.
Badoli said that AJL eventually stopped publishing newspapers and shifted focus to the property business. In 2010, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi entered the picture. The Congress party formed Young Indian Limited (YIL) with just ?5 lakhs and made Rahul Gandhi one of its directors. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi each held 38% shares in the company, while Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes held 24% collectively.
Speaking on the alleged scam, Badoli said that 90 million shares of ?10 each from AJL were transferred to Young Indian. In exchange, YIL was supposed to repay Congress's loan. This effectively gave YIL 99% ownership of AJL. On February 26, 2011, Congress assumed responsibility for the ?90 crore debt and then waived the loan, giving YIL ownership of AJL for free. Badoli alleged that Congress cheated the shareholders by transferring all shares to themselves.
Badoli added that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge sheet in the National Herald case on April 15, 2025, naming Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, and Suman Dubey as accused. On April 11, 2025, ED announced the seizure of immovable properties worth ?661 crores linked to AJL and the National Herald newspaper. These included AJL shares worth ?90.2 crores, which ED had already frozen in November 2023.
On April 11, 2025, ED pasted notices on AJL buildings located at Herald House in Delhi, Bandra (East) in Mumbai, and Bisheshwar Nath Road in Lucknow. On August 4, 2022, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was interrogated for around seven hours as he was the only employee of National Herald at that time. ED also recorded a statement from Pawan Bansal, another Congress leader. On August 3, 2022, ED sealed the office of Young Indian located inside the Herald building in Delhi. Following interrogations of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, ED raided 16 locations across Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata in early August 2022. In June 2022, Rahul Gandhi was questioned for over 50 hours across five days, while Sonia Gandhi was questioned for 12 hours across three days in July 2022, facing more than 100 questions.
Badoli further claimed that the loan given by Congress to start the newspaper was also illegal because it was taken from party funds. Once the shares were transferred, original AJL shareholders like former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan and former Chief Justices of Allahabad and Madras High Courts, including Markandey Katju, raised concerns. They alleged they were not notified nor their consent taken before transferring shares. Their fathers were among the original shareholders of AJL.
Badoli stated that the investigation into this scam began in 2014 after the Modi government came to power. With the probe progressing, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were forced to seek bail. On December 19, 2015, a lower court granted them bail. In 2018, the Modi government cancelled a long-standing land lease after 56 years, and evicted AJL from Herald House on the grounds that no newspaper was being published there.
