Contract Workers Assured Their Demands Will Be Met Within 10 Days

The protest by the Contract Sanitation Workers’ Unity Forum at the Municipal Corporation office continued for the 48th consecutive day on Tuesday. Contract workers Mukesh Tank and Mukesh Karma have been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past six days. On Tuesday, HCS officer Anil Doon met the workers and assured them that their demands would be addressed within 10 days.

Anil Doon, the sanitation nodal officer, agreed to the workers’ demands and stated that payroll-related work would be completed within 10 days. He also confirmed that an inquiry would be conducted regarding the pending arrears from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, he assured the workers that their monthly salaries would be deposited into their bank accounts before the 7th day of every month.

The workers have also alleged bogus attendance entries, and the officer promised that this matter would also be investigated. He further added that he would speak with the Municipal Commissioner and arrange a meeting between the workers and the administration.

The employees stated that their protest will continue until all their demands are fulfilled. The sit-in was conducted under the supervision of deputy secretary Yudhishthir. Several members, including Bali Sena national president Jaswinder Pehalwan, Sawan Kumar, Mukesh Karma, Ravindra, Amit, Vijay Tomar, Anil, Praveen, Vijay, Ritesh, Sanjeev, Ravi, Ranbir, Maya, Sunita, Pinky, Pramila, and Anju were present.
