Demand Raised for Train Halts and Extensions at Sonipat Station

Anil Gaur, a member of the Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee, submitted a memorandum to the General Manager of Northern Railway, requesting the stoppage and extension of several trains at Sonipat railway station.

He appealed for the Hoshiarpur Express to halt at Sonipat Junction and for the Jind-Sonipat passenger train to be extended up to Delhi. He also urged the resumption of the Himalaya Queen Express service.

Additionally, he requested stoppages at Sonipat for trains such as Sachkhand Express, Uttar Sampark Kranti, and Hirakund Express. For the convenience of Khatu Shyam devotees, he suggested that the train going to Ringas should also stop at Sonipat.

Gaur highlighted a gap in train service towards Delhi between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., leaving passengers without options. He proposed the introduction of a new passenger train during this time slot. In response, General Manager Ashok Verma assured appropriate action on the matter.
