Rain Havoc in Ganaur: Walls Collapse, Roads Sink, and Homes Flooded

Continuous rainfall since Tuesday morning has thrown life out of gear in Ganaur. With 97 mm of rain recorded throughout the day, waterlogging has taken over roads, lanes, and even entered houses, forcing residents to spend the night draining water using buckets.

The heavy rain has damaged household items and created similar situations in nearby rural areas, where water entered homes, courtyards, and fields. In many places, house walls collapsed, and roofs began to leak.

One of the incidents occurred at the Lions Community Center on Badshahi Road, where a wall collapsed and rainwater flooded the office, damaging files and belongings. Residents in other colonies also spent sleepless nights trying to protect their homes.

At the underpass near Rajlughadi on Badshahi Road, water accumulation created difficulties for vehicle movement. Even the municipal office wasn't spared—water entered the premises, and brickwork was raised at the entrance to prevent further flooding.

Locals blame poor drainage and unsatisfactory sewer maintenance for the situation. They say that clogged drains and lack of timely cleaning prevented rainwater from flowing out efficiently.
