Wheat Procurement Begins in Haryana, Farmers to Get Full Support

The wheat procurement process has officially begun in Haryana today under government agencies. The administration has assured that farmers will not face any difficulties this season. Special arrangements have been made in mandis to ensure a smooth procurement process, allowing farmers to receive timely and fair prices for their produce.

Enhanced Facilities in Mandis for Farmers

According to Harjeet, Secretary of the Thanesar Grain Market Committee, proper shed arrangements have been made in the mandis to protect against rain, ensuring comfort for farmers and laborers. Additionally, roads within the mandis have been repaired to facilitate smooth movement of trollies and trucks, preventing any disruptions in the procurement process.

Adequate Drinking Water and Lighting Arrangements

To support farmers and laborers, adequate drinking water facilities have been established in the mandis. Furthermore, upgraded lighting systems have been installed to ensure uninterrupted procurement operations, even during nighttime.

Increase in Wheat Procurement Expected, MSP Set at ?2,425 per Quintal

Last season, 10 lakh metric tons of wheat were procured. However, this year, with better crop yields, a higher procurement volume is expected. The government has set the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat at ?2,425 per quintal, ensuring that farmers receive a fair return on their hard work.

Strict Guidelines for Quick Lifting and Transparency Maintained

The administration has given strict directives to agencies for proper storage and quick lifting of wheat. To maintain transparency, gate passes will be issued at both entry points of the mandis.

Increase in Wheat Arrivals Expected in the Coming Days

While the procurement process has begun, wheat arrivals in mandis remain low. The administration expects a surge in arrivals within the next 2-4 days. Farmers have been advised to bring their produce with the appropriate moisture levels to avoid any deductions in pricing.

The administration has assured that this year’s wheat procurement process will be fully transparent, ensuring that farmers receive their due payments without any difficulties.
