महाभारत की विरासत में नई पहचान: सोनीपत में युधिष्ठिर द्वार निर्माण प्रगति पर

मुरथल-सोनीपत रोड पर युधिष्ठिर द्वार का निर्माण जोर-शोर से चल रहा है। नगर निगम द्वारा 93.53 लाख रुपये के निवेश से इस भव्य प्रवेश द्वार का निर्माण आरंभ किया गया है। एक ओर पहले ही लेंटर लगाकर निर्माण कार्य में गति लाई गई है, जबकि दूसरी ओर लेंटर लगाने का काम भी प्रारंभ हो चुका है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि यह निर्माण 30 अप्रैल तक पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।

इस परियोजना के तहत सोनीपत, जिसे महाभारत काल में स्वर्णप्रस्थ के नाम से जाना जाता था, को महाभारत की याद ताज़ा करते हुए नई पहचान देने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। शहर के मुख्य मार्गों पर अब पांच पांडवों के नाम पर द्वार बनाए जाएंगे, जिससे पहले की चार प्रवेश द्वारों की तुलना में एक नवीन दृष्टिकोण प्रस्तुत होगा। युधिष्ठिर द्वार का निर्माण सोनीपत-मुरथल रोड पर एक वर्ष पूर्व शुरू किया गया था, और इसी क्रम में रोहतक रोड पर भीम द्वार, गोहाना रोड पर सहदेव द्वार, बहालगढ़ रोड पर अर्जुन द्वार तथा नरेला रोड पर नकुल द्वार का निर्माण भी चल रहा है, जिन पर कुल मिलाकर 4.55 करोड़ रुपये का खर्च किया जा रहा है।

सबसे आकर्षक द्वारों में अर्जुन एवं भीम द्वार को माना जा रहा है। अर्जुन द्वार पर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के साथ विराजमान अर्जुन, रथ पर बैठ कर गीता का संदेश देते दिखेंगे, वहीं भीम द्वार पर महाबली भीम को उनकी विशिष्ट गदा के साथ प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा। इसके अतिरिक्त, युधिष्ठिर द्वार धर्म और नीति का संदेश प्रदान करेगा, जबकि नकुल एवं सहदेव द्वार भी जीवन के महत्वपूर्ण संदेश उजागर करेंगे। इन सभी द्वारों के डिज़ाइन का निर्माण मुरथल स्थित दीनबंधु छोटूराम विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय की टीम द्वारा किया गया है।

वर्तमान में निर्माण कार्य के चलते सोनीपत रोड की एक लेन अस्थायी रूप से बंद होने से वाहन चालकों को लगभग 200 मीटर तक एक ही मार्ग पर चलने में असुविधा का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।

The construction of the Yudhishthir Gate on the Murthal-Sonipat Road is progressing rapidly. The municipal corporation has launched the project with an investment of ?93.53 lakh for this grand gateway. Lighting fixtures have already been installed on one side, and work to install them on the opposite side is underway. Officials assure that the construction will be completed by April 30.

This project aims to give Sonipat—a city historically known as Swarnprastha during the Mahabharata era—a fresh identity by evoking the memories of that epoch. Grand gateways, each named after one of the five Pandavas, are being constructed along the city’s main routes, presenting a new perspective compared to the previous four gateways. The construction of the Yudhishthir Gate on the Sonipat-Murthal Road began about a year ago, and similarly, the Bhima Gate on Rohtak Road, the Sahadev Gate on Gohana Road, the Arjun Gate on Bahalgarh Road, and the Nakul Gate on Narela Road are also in progress, with a total expenditure of ?4.55 crore.

Among these, the Arjun and Bhima Gates are expected to be the most striking. The Arjun Gate will feature Lord Krishna alongside Arjun on a chariot, delivering the message of the Gita, while the Bhima Gate will showcase the mighty Bhima with his distinctive mace. Additionally, the Yudhishthir Gate will embody the message of righteousness, and the Nakul and Sahadev Gates will convey meaningful life messages. All these gateways have been designed by a team from Dinabandhu Chhoturam University of Science and Technology in Murthal.

Due to the construction, one lane of Sonipat Road has been temporarily closed, causing some inconvenience as motorists must now travel about 200 meters along a single route.
