Anti-Encroachment Drive on Delhi Road; Warning Issued for Repeat Violations

To streamline traffic movement in the city, the Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Police conducted a joint anti-encroachment drive on Delhi Road and nearby areas. Street vendors, roadside stalls, and illegally parked vehicles were removed during the operation. City Traffic In-charge Inspector Deshraj was present on the spot and personally monitored the campaign.

Police officials informed shopkeepers and vehicle owners that encroaching on roads not only disrupts traffic but also increases the risk of accidents. They were warned that strict legal action would be taken if they are found encroaching again.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Narender Kadyan, stated that such drives will continue regularly to improve the city’s traffic system. Strict action will be taken against those who violate rules, park vehicles on roadsides, encroach on public space, or park autos outside designated areas.

During the drive, it also came to light that some shopkeepers near Kakroi Chowk were allegedly charging rent from street vendors for using space outside their shops. Police have increased surveillance in the area following this information.
