Bail Plea of Attempt-to-Murder Accused Rejected by Court

In a case dating back a year and a half involving an attempted murder, the court has rejected the bail plea of the accused, citing the seriousness of the crime. The accused has been in judicial custody since his arrest.

According to the FIR, on January 21, 2024, Rohit alias Baaz, along with his accomplices, opened fire near a youth's shop in Gohana, injuring the victim. Police charged the accused under attempt to murder.

Rohit was arrested on February 8 and sent to jail under judicial custody. He later applied for bail through his lawyer. The bail application was heard in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Narinder Kaur.

After hearing arguments from both the defense and prosecution, the court rejected the bail plea. The arrest was made based on disclosures recorded by police, and the accused is also involved in other criminal cases. Considering the severity of the offence, the court found no grounds to grant bail.
