Bulldozer Action in Sonipat: Illegal Colonies Spread Over 14 Acres Demolished

On Wednesday, the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) carried out a large-scale demolition drive against illegal colonies in the Kharakoda region of Sonipat. Backed by a significant police presence, the enforcement team razed four unauthorized colonies spread across 14.15 acres of land.

The action was part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal colonization. Not only were the temporary and permanent access roads targeted, but marked roads were also completely uprooted.

The demolition began near National Highway 334B, between Sonipat Bypass Chowk and Thanakhala Road, where an unauthorized colony was being developed over 2.25 acres. Dirt roads built across 1.5 acres were dismantled.

A short distance away, another illegal colony spread over 7 acres was targeted, where roughly 3 acres of dirt roads were torn down.

Later, the team moved to the Sonipat Bypass Chowk–Khanda Chowk Bypass route and demolished an illegal settlement spread across 2.5 acres, where about 250 meters of interlocking tile roads were removed.
