Cyber Fraudsters Steal ?5.17 Lakh Through Credit Card in Sonipat

Cyber criminals have adopted a new trick to dupe people. In a recent case, fraudsters siphoned off ?5.17 lakh from a youth’s credit card. The victim realized the fraud only when he received multiple transaction alerts on his phone.

The victim, Arun Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Kalan, lodged a complaint at the Cyber Police Station. He said that after receiving the messages, he immediately contacted customer care and got his credit card blocked.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that ?5,17,051 had been transferred into different accounts. Based on the complaint, the Cyber Police have registered a case. Authorities said cyber experts have been engaged, and the fraudsters will soon be identified.
