सोनीपत में आवश्यक सेवा अनुरक्षण कानून (एस्मा) लागू होने के बावजूद चिकित्सकों की हड़ताल चौथे दिन भी जारी रही। गुरुवार को जिले के 133 डॉक्टर और तीन वरिष्ठ चिकित्सा अधिकारी (एसएमओ) बेमियादी हड़ताल पर रहे। स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने हड़ताल में शामिल 34 प्रोबेशनरी डॉक्टरों को नोटिस जारी किए हैं। बड़ी संख्या में डॉक्टरों की अनुपस्थिति के कारण जिले की स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित हो रही हैं। गर्भवती महिलाओं और अन्य मरीजों के अल्ट्रासाउंड, सर्जरी और मेडिकल जांच पूरी तरह ठप हैं।

जिला अस्पताल में बाल रोग, नेत्र रोग, स्त्री रोग और प्रसूति विभाग को छोड़कर अन्य ओपीडी एनएचएम, ईएसआई और बीएमएस डॉक्टरों के भरोसे चल रही हैं। सर्जन की ओपीडी बंद होने से मरीजों को बिना इलाज लौटना पड़ रहा है। अल्ट्रासाउंड सेवा पूरी तरह बंद है, जबकि हड़ताल से पहले रोजाना 40–50 अल्ट्रासाउंड किए जाते थे। नेत्र विशेषज्ञ डॉ. विकास चहल अपनी ओपीडी नियमित रूप से चला रहे हैं, जबकि डॉ. लतिका दलाल और डॉ. सुशील मानिकटालिया की ओपीडी चार दिनों से बंद है, जिससे ऑपरेशनों को टालना पड़ रहा है।

गुरुवार को जिला अस्पताल में लगभग 1400 मरीज उपचार के लिए पहुंचे। आपातकालीन विभाग को एनएचएम चिकित्सकों और कंसल्टेंट्स के सहारे संभाला जा रहा है। एमएलसी मामलों के मरीजों को मेडिकल कॉलेज खानपुर कलां भेजा जा रहा है।

हरियाणा सिविल मेडिकल सर्विसेज एसोसिएशन के आह्वान पर डॉक्टर एसएमओ की सीधी भर्ती का विरोध करते हुए लगातार चार दिनों से हड़ताल पर हैं। नियमित डॉक्टरों के न बैठने से मरीजों को सीमित स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में ही इलाज कराना पड़ रहा है।

एसोसिएशन का पक्ष:
जिला प्रधान डॉ. नितिन फ्लस्वाल का कहना है कि 34 प्रोबेशनरी डॉक्टरों को नोटिस भेजकर उन्हें डराने की कोशिश की जा रही है। एसोसिएशन उनके साथ खड़ी है और बार-बार सरकार से मांगें रखने के बाद भी सुनवाई नहीं हो रही।

विभाग का पक्ष:
सिविल सर्जन डॉ. ज्योत्सना ने बताया कि मुख्यालय के निर्देश पर 34 प्रोबेशनरी डॉक्टरों को नोटिस जारी किए गए हैं। विभाग एनएचएम, आयुष, ईएसआई और सेवानिवृत्त चिकित्सकों की मदद से ओपीडी चला रहा है ताकि मरीजों को कम से कम परेशानी हो।

In Sonipat, despite the enforcement of the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA), the doctors’ strike continued for the fourth consecutive day. On Thursday, 133 doctors and three Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) remained on an indefinite strike. The health department issued notices to 34 probationary doctors participating in the agitation. With a large number of medical staff absent, healthcare services across the district have been severely disrupted. Ultrasounds, surgeries, and major medical tests have come to a halt, affecting pregnant women and other patients.

Except for the pediatrics, ophthalmology, gynecology, and obstetrics departments, most OPDs at the district hospital are being run by NHM, ESI, and BAMS doctors. With the surgeons’ OPD closed, many patients are returning without treatment. Ultrasound services remain suspended; earlier, 40–50 ultrasounds were done daily. Ophthalmologist Dr. Vikas Chahal continues to treat patients, but the OPDs of Dr. Latika Dalal and Dr. Sushil Maniktalia have been closed for four days, leading to postponed surgeries.

Around 1,400 patients arrived at the district hospital on Thursday. Emergency services are being handled with the support of NHM doctors and consultants. Patients requiring MLC documentation are being referred to Khanpur Kalan Medical College.

Doctors have been on strike for four days following a call by the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association, opposing the government’s plan for direct recruitment of SMOs. Due to the absence of regular doctors, patients are forced to depend on limited services.

Association’s Statement:
District President Dr. Nitin Falswal stated that issuing notices to 34 probationary doctors is an attempt to intimidate them. He said the association stands firmly with them and that despite repeated appeals, the government is not addressing their demands.

Health Department’s Statement:
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jyotsna said the notices were issued based on orders from headquarters. She added that OPD services are being managed with the support of NHM, AYUSH, ESI, and retired doctors to ensure minimal inconvenience to patients.
