Garbage Crisis in Kharkhoda: Waste Collection Comes to a Standstill, Streets Filled with Filth

The sanitation system in the city has collapsed. Garbage collection from households has come to a halt, and streets are now filled with waste. Not only are the homes piling up with trash, but heaps of garbage can also be seen across the lanes. The municipal officers seem uninterested in resolving the issue, which has led to public outrage.

The municipal council’s initiative to collect garbage from door to door has slowed down significantly. Residents wait for the sanitation workers, but they never show up. As a result, garbage is accumulating both inside homes and in the streets. Stray animals can be seen roaming in the open filth everywhere—from the old market to Brahmin Mohalla and even on the main Rohtak road.

Despite spending lakhs of rupees every month on cleanliness, the condition on the ground tells a different story. Locals are demanding immediate attention and action from the authorities.
