“Husband Breaks Down: Says the Woman Who Tortured Innocent Kids to Death Should Face the Same Fate”

Naveen, the husband of Poonam from Bhawad village—accused of drowning four children including her own three-year-old son Shubham—has demanded the harshest possible punishment for her. After Poonam confessed to the murders on Thursday, Naveen broke down emotionally, saying she deserves the same torment she inflicted on the innocent children.

He recalled that when Shubham and their 9-year-old niece Ishika died on January 12, 2023, no one doubted Poonam. But after learning that she was the killer, his entire life collapsed. According to him, the same agonizing death that Shubham, Ishika, and niece Vidhi suffered in water should be given to Poonam.

Naveen said he married Poonam in 2019 and she never appeared mentally unstable. Though she often returned to her parental home after their first son died, he never imagined she could go to such extremes. She frequently argued with her parents over trivial matters but always acted overprotective toward their younger child.

Suspicion That Poonam May Not Have Acted Alone

Vidhi’s father Sandeep, a resident of West Ramnagar, said that the murder occurred when a wedding procession was about to leave and everyone was distracted with music and festivities. Poonam filled a tub with water, sought help under the pretext of placing it inside a room, lured Vidhi in, and drowned her. Sandeep said he had suspected something even during the death of another child named Jiya, but had no evidence then. He believes Poonam may not have acted alone and that her family might also be involved, as she was present during all three previous deaths.

Becoming emotional, he added, “One woman—Poonam—killed innocent children, and on the other hand, my wife is now feeding milk to Poonam’s surviving child.”

Grandfather Says Poonam Was Highly Calculating

Vidhi’s grandfather, retired police personnel Pal Singh, stated that Poonam showed no remorse even after four murders—she simply said she had “made a mistake.” She drowned four children and attempted to pass each case off as an accident. The family never suspected that one of their own could be behind such tragic events.

No Evidence of Occult or Tantrik Influence

Pal Singh said he does not believe a tantrik was involved, and the police found no such connection. Naveen also denied any such contact. Sandeep said only Poonam’s parental family could clarify this. After Shubham and Ishika died, Poonam had been taken to UP, where she shockingly claimed a neighbor’s spirit had possessed her and forced her to commit the crimes.

“My Daughter Could Have Been Saved”

Sandeep said that when Ishika was killed, Poonam also murdered her own son, so no one suspected her. Even after Jiya’s death in Panipat, the family did not file a complaint. He believes that a post-mortem at that time might have exposed the truth and saved Vidhi’s life. If the recent case had not come to light, Poonam might have continued killing more children, he said.

The Case

On December 1, in a wedding ceremony in Naultha village, Panipat, six-year-old Vidhi was found dead in a water-filled tub. Suspicion of murder led the police to dig deeper, revealing the horrifying truth about the so-called “lady psycho killer.” During interrogation, Poonam admitted drowning her three-year-old son Shubham and niece Ishika in a water tank, followed by two more children—Jiya and Vidhi. The first three deaths were considered accidents until Vidhi’s murder exposed the entire pattern.
