Illegal Liquor Case: Gwalior Teams Examine Property Records of Randeep Malik in Gohana

After a major illegal liquor racket was uncovered in Gwalior, its links now appear to be connected to Gohana as well. On Monday, excise and police teams from Gwalior reached Gohana and collected documents related to the land and properties of Randeep Malik, a resident of Rukhi village.

Randeep Malik had sought a Congress ticket from the Baroda constituency for the 2024 assembly elections. The investigating team visited the municipal council office and sought detailed information about his properties. After crores worth of illegal liquor and machinery were seized in Gwalior, the names of several influential individuals surfaced.

The team first visited Rukhi village to gather information about Randeep Malik and his assets. They received input about one of his buildings located near Drain No. 8 on Rohtak Road and conducted an on-site inspection. Later, they also reached the municipal council office to examine property records.

However, the owner’s name for this building was not found in the municipal records, and the column for the property owner was left blank. Police are now trying to identify the actual owner of the building. The Gwalior team also visited the city and Baroda police stations to collect more details about Randeep.

After failing to secure a ticket in the assembly election, Randeep Malik had distanced himself from politics and focused on business. But with his name emerging in the illegal liquor network, the investigation teams have become active.

The excise and police officials from Gwalior refused to give any statement to the media, saying that an official announcement would be made once the investigation concludes.

Case surfaced on 27 August
On 27 August, the excise and police teams raided a farmhouse in the Ghatigaon area of Gwalior and seized around ?4 crore worth of fake liquor, machinery, and other items. Five accused were arrested, and the involvement of Haryana-based smugglers also came to light.
