The indefinite hunger strike of Jagjit Singh Dallewal entered its 95th day at the Datasinghwala-Khanouri Farmer Protest Site. His health has shown slight improvement compared to the past 3-4 days, but a team of doctors continues to closely monitor his condition 24/7.

Farmers Demand Agricultural Exemption from Pollution Laws

Farmer leaders reiterated their long-standing stance that Punjab and Haryana farmers have been unfairly blamed for Delhi’s pollution, despite factual evidence proving otherwise. They pointed out that for over a year, they have been demanding that agriculture be exempted from pollution laws, as neither farmers nor the agricultural sector are responsible for pollution.

Their claims were further reinforced when, after the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Union Minister Piyush Goyal also acknowledged that farmers are not responsible for Delhi’s pollution.
