शिक्षा के साथ अब खेलों में भी चमकेंगे जिंदल विश्वविद्यालय के छात्र – शुरू हुई विश्वस्तरीय खेल अकादमी

ओ.पी. जिंदल ग्लोबल यूनिवर्सिटी के छात्र अब शिक्षा के साथ-साथ खेलों में भी अपनी पहचान बनाएंगे। विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में एक विश्वस्तरीय खेल अकादमी की शुरुआत हुई है, जो छात्रों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की खेल सुविधाएं प्रदान करेगी।
शनिवार को केंद्रीय ऊर्जा, आवास और शहरी विकास मंत्री मनोहर लाल और सांसद नवीन जिंदल ने इस अकादमी का उद्घाटन किया। इस अवसर पर हरियाणा के अर्जुन और भीम पुरस्कार विजेताओं को सम्मानित भी किया गया। इसके साथ ही नवीन जिंदल ने विश्वविद्यालय में परफॉर्मेंस टेस्टिंग लैब बनाए जाने की घोषणा की।

अकादमी में एक 50 मीटर, आठ लेन का ऑल वेदर स्विमिंग पूल और संकल्प एरिना बनाया गया है, जहां एक ही स्थान पर बास्केटबॉल, वॉलीबॉल और बैडमिंटन खेले जा सकते हैं। इसमें 1440 दर्शकों के बैठने की क्षमता है। साथ ही, 333 मीटर लंबा पांच लेन का रनिंग ट्रैक भी बनाया गया है।
यहां 10 मीटर की इलेक्ट्रॉनिक टारगेट सिस्टम से लैस शूटिंग रेंज और छह स्क्वैश कोर्ट भी बनाए गए हैं, जो मेपल वुड फ्लोरिंग और एलईडी लाइटिंग से सुसज्जित हैं।
इसके अतिरिक्त, 2000 वर्ग मीटर में फैला एक विशाल जिम भी तैयार किया गया है, जिसमें एक साथ 300 खिलाड़ी वर्कआउट कर सकते हैं। यहां कार्डियो, स्ट्रेंथ और फ्री वेट के लिए अलग-अलग ज़ोन हैं। एक फिजियोथेरेपी सेंटर भी बनाया गया है।

मनोहर लाल ने कहा कि हरियाणा खेलों की धरती है और यह अकादमी इस परंपरा को एक नया आयाम देगी। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार खिलाड़ियों को 6 करोड़ रुपये तक का पुरस्कार देती है, जो दुनिया में सबसे अधिक है।
कार्यक्रम में राज्यसभा सांसद रामचंद्र जांगड़ा, सुभाष बराला, विधायक निखिल मदान, देवेंद्र कादियान, पवन खरखौदा, कृष्णा गहलावत सहित कई गणमान्य लोग उपस्थित रहे।

Students of O.P. Jindal Global University will now make their mark not only in academics but also in sports, thanks to the launch of a world-class sports academy on campus. This facility aims to provide international-standard infrastructure and opportunities to budding athletes.
The academy was officially inaugurated on Saturday by Union Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, along with Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal. During the ceremony, Arjuna and Bhim Awardees from Haryana were also honored. Additionally, MP Naveen Jindal announced the establishment of a Performance Testing Lab within the university.
The new academy features a 50-meter, eight-lane all-weather swimming pool and the Sankalp Arena, where students can play basketball, volleyball, and badminton—all under one roof, with seating for 1,440 spectators. A 333-meter five-lane running track is also constructed for athletics.
A 10-meter shooting range equipped with an electronic target system and six international-standard squash courts with maple wood flooring and LED lighting have also been built.

A 2,000 square meter gym has been established that can accommodate 300 athletes at once. The gym includes zones for cardio, strength training, and free weights, along with a dedicated physiotherapy center.
Manohar Lal stated that Haryana has always been a land of sports, and this academy will take that legacy forward. He highlighted that the state offers up to ?6 crore in sports rewards—among the highest in the world.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra, Subhash Barala, MLAs Nikhil Madan, Devender Kadian, Pawan Kharakhoda, and Krishna Gahlawat.
