Panch Attacked Inside Shop in Lalheri Khurd, Allegations Against Village Sarpanch

A shocking incident occurred in Lalheri Khurd village on Friday evening, where 10-15 people stormed into a grocery shop and brutally attacked Panch Rajesh with sticks and rods. He sustained serious injuries and was first taken to Ganaur Hospital, then referred to Sonipat Civil Hospital, and finally admitted to a private hospital.

In his police complaint, Rajesh said he was sitting in his shop when the attackers barged in, started abusing and assaulting him. He added that the assailants warned him to withdraw a complaint filed against the village sarpanch or face deadly consequences.

Rajesh had earlier filed multiple RTIs and complaints with the Deputy Commissioner, raising concerns over alleged irregularities in village development works.

Based on his complaint, Barhi police station registered an FIR against village Sarpanch Mehr Singh and his nephew Monu. An investigation is currently underway.

Sarpanch Mehr Singh, in his defense, stated, “The allegations against me are baseless. I wasn’t even present in the village when the incident took place. I will cooperate fully with the investigation.”
