Residents of Sonipat Won’t Have to Run Around for Municipal Services: Kamal Diwan

Party co-in-charge Jitendra Baghel also held meetings in all the wards of the corporation.

Kamal Diwan, the Congress candidate for the Sonipat Municipal Corporation, stated that by winning with the blessings of the people of Sonipat, his primary objective will be to create a fear- and corruption-free environment in the Sonipat Municipal Corporation for the residents. Every individual’s issues, both big and small, will be resolved on a priority basis.

On Friday, mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan and his wife, Megha Diwan, accelerated their public outreach campaign by addressing residents at various localities—including Pragati Nagar, Omex City, Dahia Colony, Kalupur, Bainya Pur, Lahraada, Faiz Bazaar, and Halwai Hatta—and appealed to them to press the designated handprint button on March 2. In addition, during the door-to-door campaign, the residents of Sonipat Municipal Corporation warmly welcomed mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan with garlands, bestowing upon him blessings for a victorious future. Furthermore, party co-in-charge Jitendra Baghel also conducted meetings in all the corporation wards and issued necessary guidelines.

Kamal Diwan added that while the BJP remains confined to making declarations, the Congress government believes in working at the grassroots level. Under the Congress government, Sonipat has been established as an education hub, whereas the BJP government has not taken even a single step forward in that direction. He noted that former MLA Surendra Panwar had delivered numerous developmental projects to Sonipat during his tenure—resulting in well-paved roads in most of the colonies and improved drinking water facilities.

He further stated that not only will Congress win in Sonipat with the blessings of the people, but across the state in the upcoming municipal elections, the people are standing firmly with the Congress Party. According to him, once he assumes the mayor’s position, the people of Sonipat will witness a new system that ensures every individual’s participation. From developmental projects to the budget, the suggestions of common citizens will be taken into account at the Municipal Corporation. The residents of Sonipat will no longer have to go through the hassle of visiting the Municipal Corporation, as its services will be delivered right to their doorsteps.
