भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच बढ़ते तनाव के बीच, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह नई दिल्ली स्थित साउथ ब्लॉक में तीनों सेनाओं के प्रमुखों, चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ (सीडीएस) और सैन्य संचालन महानिदेशक (डीजीएमओ) के साथ उच्च स्तरीय आपात बैठक कर रहे हैं। इस स्थिति को देखते हुए उन्होंने बिहार के पटना का अपना पूर्व निर्धारित दौरा भी रद्द कर दिया है।

बैठक का उद्देश्य मौजूदा सुरक्षा हालात का मूल्यांकन करना और आगे की रणनीति तय करना है। यह बैठक तब बुलाई गई जब भारत ने पाकिस्तान द्वारा किए गए ड्रोन और मिसाइल हमलों को सफलतापूर्वक नाकाम कर दिया। इन हमलों में राजस्थान, गुजरात और पंजाब के सैन्य ठिकानों और शहरी क्षेत्रों को निशाना बनाया गया था।

गुरुवार रात करीब 8:30 बजे पाकिस्तान ने दूसरी बार भारत के खिलाफ हवाई हमले शुरू किए, जिनमें जम्मू, पठानकोट और उधमपुर जैसे रणनीतिक स्थानों को निशाना बनाया गया। इसके बाद श्रीनगर, जम्मू, पंजाब और राजस्थान के कुछ हिस्सों में व्यापक रूप से बिजली गुल हो गई, जिससे इलाके अंधेरे में डूब गए।

भारतीय सेनाओं ने जोरदार और सटीक प्रतिक्रिया दी। सूत्रों के अनुसार, नियंत्रण रेखा (LoC) पर पाकिस्तान की कई चौकियों को एंटी-टैंक गाइडेड मिसाइलों से नष्ट कर दिया गया। भारतीय सेना के अनुसार, 8 और 9 मई की रात को पाकिस्तान ने ड्रोन और अन्य हथियारों से कई हमले किए और जम्मू-कश्मीर में कई बार संघर्षविराम का उल्लंघन किया। भारत ने इन हमलों का मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया।

सेना ने स्पष्ट किया कि भारत अपनी संप्रभुता और क्षेत्रीय अखंडता की रक्षा के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और हर दुश्मन गतिविधि का सख्ती से जवाब दिया जाएगा। यह घटनाक्रम भारत के ऑपरेशन ‘सिंदूर’ के बाद सामने आया, जिसमें 22 अप्रैल को पहलगाम में हुए आतंकी हमले का जवाब देते हुए भारत ने पाकिस्तान व पीओके में 25 मिनट में 24 मिसाइलें दागीं, जिससे 70 आतंकवादी मारे गए और 60 घायल हुए। इसके बाद पाकिस्तान ने जवाबी हमले में जम्मू-कश्मीर, राजस्थान और पंजाब में सैन्य व नागरिक ठिकानों पर गोलाबारी की। इन हमलों में कम से कम 16 नागरिकों की जान गई।

भारत ने स्पष्ट किया है कि हर उकसावे का जवाब सटीकता और शक्ति के साथ दिया जाएगा।

As tensions rise between India and Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is currently holding a high-level emergency meeting at South Block, New Delhi with the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), and Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). In response to the situation, Singh has canceled his scheduled visit to Patna, Bihar.

The urgent meeting is focused on assessing the current security situation and devising a future course of action. This comes just hours after Indian defense systems successfully intercepted a wave of missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan targeting military and civilian areas across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab.

The escalation began late Thursday night when Pakistan launched a second wave of aerial assaults around 8:30 PM, targeting key strategic points in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur. Power outages were reported in many regions including Srinagar, Jammu, and parts of Rajasthan and Punjab, plunging areas into darkness and uncertainty.

Indian forces responded decisively. Sources confirm that several Pakistani military posts along the Line of Control (LoC) were destroyed with precision-guided anti-tank missiles. The Indian Army officially stated that multiple drone and artillery attacks occurred during the night of May 8-9, with Pakistan violating the ceasefire repeatedly. However, these were effectively countered.

The Indian Army reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's sovereignty and warned that every hostile act will be met with force. The current escalation follows India’s "Operation Sindoor," a retaliatory airstrike on April 22 targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which killed 70 terrorists and injured 60. Following this, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan.
