Tragic Accident at Wedding: Youth Dies from Electric Shock While Talking on Phone in Balcony

A 22-year-old youth tragically lost his life after receiving an electric shock while attending a wedding in Kalupur village. The victim, Sawan, had stepped into the balcony to attend a phone call when he accidentally came in contact with an overhead power line. He died on the spot due to the shock.

The incident occurred on Thursday night during his friend Mandeep’s wedding. Sawan, a resident of Indra Colony in Kalupur and a worker at a generator shop near Geeta Bhawan Chowk, was attending the event when he received a call and went to the balcony to talk.

Suddenly, he touched the live electric wires passing nearby and suffered a fatal shock. City police arrived at the scene shortly after and sent the body for post-mortem at the civil hospital. On Friday, after the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family.

Investigation Officer Devender stated that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
