Yamuna Water Enters Fields; 50 Relief Camps Set Up, 15 NDRF-SDRF Teams Deployed

Due to continuous rainfall and the release of water from the Hathni Kund Barrage, the Yamuna River is flowing above the danger mark. Water has entered the fields of around 30 villages situated along the riverbank, putting nearby villages at risk. However, the administration is on high alert and has initiated relief and rescue efforts.

To handle the situation, 15 teams from the NDRF and SDRF have been called in. Additionally, officers have been assigned to oversee relief work in the affected villages.

A control room has been set up by the administration to monitor real-time updates on the rising Yamuna water level. With a discharge of 3.4 lakh cusecs, the river’s flow is extremely swift. In villages like Bega and Pabnera in the Ganaur region, the Yamuna has spread across large areas, submerging farmland. The same situation is being reported from Murthal villages as well. Crops have already been damaged, and now the rising water threatens homes.

Fifty relief centers have been made operational in elevated villages. The administration is fully engaged in rescue operations amid the fear of further water level rise.

Meanwhile, the rainfall is compounding the situation. From Ganaur to the Delhi border, around 30 villages located near the Yamuna are under threat. The current situation is more alarming than previous floods, where 2.24 lakh cusecs of water was released — this time, an additional 1 lakh cusecs has been discharged, increasing the potential for damage. In response, the administration is putting in all its resources to minimize losses.
