Congress Protests Against Injustice Toward Dalits, Backward Classes, and Women

Congress party workers staged a protest at the Mini Secretariat on Monday, raising their voice against the injustices being faced by Dalits, backward classes, and women. After the demonstration, a memorandum addressed to the President was submitted to the administration.

Former MLA Jagbir Malik stated that the current government has crossed all limits of injustice towards Dalits. He added that when the public awakens, governments change.

State spokesperson Rakesh Sauda accused the government of adopting a dictatorial approach, saying it shows no regard for the lives of ordinary citizens.

Referring to the death of Ganesh Valmiki in Hisar, he called it not an accident but a consequence of the government and police's authoritarianism. He demanded that the involved police personnel be dismissed and charged with murder.

Former mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan remarked that such incidents reveal the anti-people mindset of the government, which assigns no value to the lives of Dalits and backward communities.

City SC department president Dayanand Valmiki accused the BJP government of using the Dalit community merely for vote bank politics. He warned that if swift action is not taken, the Dalit community will take to the streets to fight for justice.

The protest was also attended by former MLA Padam Dahiya, former HPSC member Surender Sharma, SC rural district president Jagsher Noornakheda, Seva Dal women district president Krishna Bumrah, and district councilor and state general secretary Ravi Indora.
