Farmer Leader Dallewal to Be Shifted Out of Trolley, Natural Light and Air Required

On the 57th day of his hunger strike, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal continues his protest at the Datar Singhwala-Khanauri farmers’ front. Due to the need for fresh air and natural light, Dallewal will be shifted out of the trolley tomorrow afternoon to a newly prepared trolley/room near the stage. A specialized team is cleaning and sanitizing the area around the trolley/room to make it bacteria-free using disinfectants.

Farmer leaders reiterated that Dallewal’s hunger strike and the ongoing agitation will continue until their demands are met. They acknowledged a milestone in their struggle but emphasized the need to strengthen the movement further.

In Maharashtra, a one-day symbolic hunger strike was observed at the district level in support of Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s indefinite fast, and a memorandum of demands was sent to the central government through district officials. Tomorrow, thousands of farmers in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, will observe a one-day symbolic fast in solidarity with Dallewal’s hunger strike.

Both fronts condemned the police lathi charge on farmers in Hanumangarh yesterday, stating that there is no place for violent actions by the police in a democracy.
