Haryana STF Launches Aggressive Crackdown on Organized Crime in 2025

From January 1 to June 29, 2025, the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) has delivered a powerful blow to organized crime. During this period, the STF arrested 58 wanted criminals, 101 gangsters or gang members, and 178 hardened offenders. According to DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor, the STF is a combination of “technology, force, and swift action.”

Compared to the same period in 2024, the 2025 performance is significantly more aggressive. The number of arrested gangsters rose from 29 last year to 101 this year—highlighting STF’s intensified crackdown.

DGP Kapoor emphasized that the STF’s reach has extended beyond state borders to target cybercriminals, drug cartels, and international syndicates. With tech-driven surveillance, advanced analytics, and strengthened manpower, the STF has emerged as a leading national agency for organized crime control.

Key Achievements:

• 58 wanted criminals, 101 gangsters, 178 serious offenders arrested in 2025 so far

• 10 international fugitives extradited/deported

• Creation of Financial Intelligence and Intelligence Analysis Wings

• Advanced training in cyber tools, dark web monitoring, and surveillance

• Equipped with modern weapons, bulletproof vests, and digital databases

IG Simardeep Singh shared that EAGLE and DMS software were used to track and analyze criminal data, leading to more precise operations. The force is also set to adopt AI-powered dark web analysis tools developed by DRDO’s CAIR.

The STF’s continued operations have not only instilled fear among criminals but have also built a stronger sense of safety and trust among the public.
