Health Minister Aarti Rao: Appointment Letters Issued to 561 Medical Officers, Focus on Nursing and Fourth-Class Employee Recruitment

While responding to a question by BJP MLA Ghanshyam Das, Health Minister Aarti Rao stated that appointment letters have been issued to 561 medical officers on March 8, and they will soon be assigned to their respective postings.

Additionally, the recruitment process for 501 nursing officers has also commenced. The MLA divided his question into two parts.

In the first part, he pointed out that out of 55 medical officers, only 25 are currently working, while the rest are on leave and have not resumed duty. He urged the government to take action against doctors who have been on extended leave to ensure smooth functioning.

In the second part, he highlighted the shortage of fourth-class employees, stating that 228 staff members are required as per standard guidelines. He mentioned that the government has spent ?100 crore to establish a 200-bed hospital, but adequate staffing has not been ensured. He urged the government to take necessary steps in this regard.

In response, Health Minister Aarti Rao assured that action will be taken against doctors on extended leave, and efforts are being made to fill vacancies wherever there is a staff shortage.
