विश्व U-20 कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में काजल ने रचा इतिहास, गोल्ड जीतकर भारत का नाम रोशन किया

हरियाणा के सोनीपत जिले की बेटी काजल ने अंडर-20 विश्व कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर इतिहास रच दिया है। बुल्गारिया के समोकोव में आयोजित इस प्रतियोगिता में 72 किग्रा वर्ग के फाइनल में काजल ने चीन की लियू युकी को 8-6 से मात देकर लगातार दूसरी बार विश्व चैंपियन बनने का गौरव हासिल किया।

गांव लाठ निवासी टैक्सी चालक रविंद्र ढोचक की बेटी काजल को बचपन से ही अपने चाचा और गुरु कृष्ण ढोचक से पहलवानी की प्रेरणा मिली। आर्थिक चुनौतियों के बावजूद काजल ने कभी हार नहीं मानी और अपनी मेहनत और लगन से यह मुकाम हासिल किया। अपनी जीत का श्रेय काजल ने अपने माता-पिता और गुरु को दिया है।

प्रतियोगिता में काजल का सफर बेहद शानदार रहा:

प्री-क्वार्टर फाइनल में बुल्गारिया की एमिली मिहायलोवा को 15-4 से हराया।

क्वार्टर फाइनल में किर्गिस्तान की कायिरकुल को 7-0 से परास्त किया।

सेमीफाइनल में अमेरिका की मौजूदा चैंपियन जैस्मिन डोलोरेस को 13-6 से हराकर फाइनल में पहुंची।

फाइनल में दमदार खेल दिखाते हुए चीन की पहलवान को मात दी और स्वर्ण पर कब्जा जमाया।

काजल के घर में जश्न का माहौल है। मां बबीता ने बताया कि बेटी के सोनीपत लौटने पर जोरदार स्वागत किया जाएगा और उसका पसंदीदा चूरमा खिलाया जाएगा। चाचा कृष्ण ने बताया कि अब काजल का अगला लक्ष्य 2028 ओलंपिक होगा और उन्हें पूरा भरोसा है कि वह भारत के लिए वहां भी स्वर्ण पदक जीतेंगी।

काजल अब तक 16 बार भारत केसरी, दो बार हरियाणा केसरी और दो बार दिल्ली केसरी का खिताब जीत चुकी हैं। परिवार और ग्रामीणों का मानना है कि वह विनेश फोगाट का अधूरा सपना पूरा करेंगी और भारत के लिए ओलंपिक में स्वर्ण पदक जीतेंगी।

चाचा कृष्ण ने बताया कि काजल को पहलवानी का जुनून सात साल की उम्र से ही था। जब उन्होंने उसकी लगन देखी, तो उसे प्रशिक्षण देना शुरू किया और आज वह एक साल में दूसरी बार विश्व चैंपियन बनी हैं। अगस्त 2024 में भी उन्होंने जॉर्डन में हुई अंडर-17 विश्व चैंपियनशिप में 69 किग्रा वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक जीता था।

Kajal, a young wrestler from Haryana’s Sonipat district, has made the nation proud by clinching a gold medal at the U20 World Wrestling Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria. Competing in the 72 kg category, Kajal defeated China's Liu Yuki 8-6 in a gripping final. Remarkably, this is Kajal’s second consecutive world title, solidifying her dominance in junior wrestling.

The daughter of taxi driver Ravindra Dhochhak and Babita, Kajal hails from village Lath and was inspired from an early age by her uncle and coach, Krishan Dhochhak. Despite financial hardships, her dedication and perseverance led her to global success. Kajal credits her win to her parents and mentor, saying their constant support made her dream possible.

Kajal’s journey in the tournament was nothing short of spectacular:

In the pre-quarterfinal, she beat Bulgaria's Emily Mihaylova Apostolova 15-4.

In the quarterfinal, she dominated Kyrgyzstan’s Kayirkul Sharshibaeva 7-0.

In the semifinal, she overcame defending champion Jasmine Dolores Robinson from the USA, winning 13-6 despite an early setback.

In the final, she displayed outstanding grit to beat her Chinese opponent and claim the gold.

Her home is now buzzing with celebration. Her mother Babita shared that Kajal will be welcomed back to Sonipat with a grand celebration and her favorite dish, churma. Her uncle and coach, Krishan, expressed optimism about Kajal’s future, stating her next target is the 2028 Olympics, where they believe she can bring home another gold for India.

Kajal’s achievements are already exceptional. She has won the title of Bharat Kesari 16 times, and has also been crowned Haryana Kesari and Delhi Kesari twice each. Locals and family members believe she has the potential to fulfill the Olympic dream that athletes like Vinesh Phogat couldn't.

Her passion for wrestling began at the age of seven, watching her uncle train. Encouraged by her early promise, Krishan began coaching her, and the medals have kept coming ever since. Just last year in August 2024, Kajal won gold in the 69 kg category at the U17 World Wrestling Championship held in Jordan.
