Sonipat Encounter: Notorious Criminal Ravi alias Lamba Nabbed by Anti-Gangster Special Unit

In a major breakthrough, the Sonipat Police's Special Anti-Gangster Unit arrested dreaded criminal Ravi alias Lamba after an early morning encounter on Saturday near Kharkhoda. The operation, led by in-charge Ajay Dhanakdhad, resulted in the capture of Ravi, a resident of Barona village and an active member of the infamous Rajesh Bawana gang from Delhi.

Ravi, who was wanted in a high-profile murder case involving Brijesh, the brother of rival gangster Ravi Munia, had been on the run for several months. He had jumped parole and continued engaging in serious criminal activities including murder, extortion, and robbery. Ravi faces nearly a dozen cases across Haryana and Delhi. Haryana Police had placed a ?20,000 reward on his head, while Delhi Police had announced a ?25,000 bounty.

The encounter occurred near Kharkhoda bypass when Ravi was spotted on a motorcycle. He opened fire at the police when asked to stop, prompting a retaliatory shot that injured him in the leg. He was immediately taken to Kharkhoda Civil Hospital for treatment. Weapons were recovered from the scene, and senior police officials including DCP Narendra Kadian and ACP Jeet Singh Beniwal visited the location.

This arrest is considered a significant blow to the regional gangster network. Ravi and his rival Ravi Munia's families have been entangled in a violent feud that has claimed several lives over the years.
