सोनीपत रेलवे स्टेशन बनेगा एयरपोर्ट जैसा, यात्रियों को मिलेंगी अत्याधुनिक सुविधाएं

नए साल में सोनीपत रेलवे स्टेशन से सफर करने वाले यात्रियों को एयरपोर्ट जैसी आधुनिक सुविधाओं का अनुभव मिलेगा। स्टेशन के नवीनीकरण के बाद यहां यात्रियों को न केवल बेहतर सुविधाएं मिलेंगी, बल्कि पर्यटन और सांस्कृतिक पहचान से भी रूबरू कराया जाएगा। स्टेशन परिसर में पर्यटन स्थलों से जुड़े सूचना बोर्ड लगाए जाएंगे, वहीं मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार पर पांडवों के नाम पर बनाए जा रहे गुंबद महाभारत काल की याद दिलाएंगे।

अमृत भारत स्टेशन योजना के अंतर्गत सोनीपत रेलवे स्टेशन के पुनर्विकास पर करीब 29 करोड़ रुपये खर्च किए जा रहे हैं। नवीनीकरण कार्य को पूरा करने के लिए मार्च 2026 का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है, हालांकि पहले इसे नवंबर तक पूरा करने की योजना थी।

नवीनीकरण के बाद स्टेशन यात्रियों के लिए पूरी तरह आधुनिक रूप में सामने आएगा। योजना के तहत यात्रियों और रेलवे कर्मचारियों के लिए नए भवनों का निर्माण किया जा रहा है। इसके साथ ही एक अतिरिक्त फुट ओवरब्रिज, स्वचालित सीढ़ियां (एस्केलेटर) और लिफ्ट भी लगाई जा रही हैं। दिल्ली के मंगोलपुरी की तर्ज पर सफेद जालीदार शीट से प्रवेश द्वार का सौंदर्यीकरण किया जाएगा।

स्टेशन पर नवीनीकरण कार्य की शुरुआत वर्ष 2023 में प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर एक पर स्वचालित सीढ़ियां लगाकर की गई थी। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 6 अगस्त 2023 को रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव के साथ वर्चुअल माध्यम से सोनीपत रेलवे स्टेशन के पुनर्विकास की आधारशिला रखी थी।

रेलवे अधिकारियों के अनुसार, स्टेशन पर करीब 85 प्रतिशत कार्य पूरा हो चुका है। शेष कार्य के पूरा होते ही यात्रियों को हाईटेक सुविधाओं का लाभ मिलेगा, जिससे यात्रा पहले से अधिक सुविधाजनक और सुगम हो जाएगी।

Passengers travelling through Sonipat Railway Station will experience airport-like modern facilities in the new year. After redevelopment, the station will not only offer improved passenger amenities but will also highlight the region’s cultural and tourism identity. Information boards showcasing tourist destinations will be installed, while domes at the main entrance, named after the Pandavas, will evoke memories of the Mahabharata era.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, redevelopment work worth around ?29 crore is underway at Sonipat Railway Station. The project is targeted for completion by March 2026, although it was initially planned to be finished by November.

Once completed, the station will present a completely modern look. The plan includes reconstruction of buildings for passengers and railway staff, construction of an additional foot overbridge, and installation of escalators and lifts. The station’s entrance will be beautified using white lattice sheets similar to those used in Mangolpuri, Delhi.

The redevelopment work began in 2023 with the installation of escalators at Platform Number One. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, laid the foundation stone for the station’s redevelopment virtually on August 6, 2023.

According to railway officials, nearly 85 percent of the work has already been completed. Once the remaining work is finished, passengers will benefit from high-tech facilities, making their travel experience more comfortable and seamless.
